If you want to have an incredible, hospitable, comfortable place to stay near Amsterdam, Happy Island is a must. Michel and Daisy are lovely hosts and have put many special touches on this stay. Michel and Daisy were great hosts! Both were very kind and friendly and were flexible when we asked if we could check in earlier than originally discussed. We really enjoyed staying at Happy Island. Taking the small motorized boat to and from our mainland parking location was a lot of fun. The lodgings were also very adorable and clean. It was unfortunately rainy a lot of the time in the mornings or at night when we would be back at the lodgings - otherwise, we would have used the nice outdoor space a little bit more. The AirBnB location is outside of Amsterdam and we did not use public transportation at all while there, but it was a great location for us with a car and driving to regions around the area. A great unique place to stay, that is close to Amsterdam making it easy to enjoy the city and in a peaceful Island where you can simply relax and take time for yourself.The location is comfortable and the record collection is great fun to dive into. Wow, where to begin? I stayed here for 4/5 nights as an early birthday treat this month & I have to say Michel & Daisy were wonderful hosts. From the moment we booked they were super responsive and helpful about our stay.Daisy collected us the day we arrived with our luggage and demonstrated the use of the boat we would be using to get to and from mainland. She was so informative and lovely. Michel then dropped us back on our last day!The island is beautiful, they made us feel so at home and the hot tub being made ready for us as & when requested was such a nice touch to our stay! The oil tank is cute, cosy and well equipped. It's helpful to have a sense of adventure as we had the fun of switching our brains to life on the water. Think boat not house! We loved the adventure of rowing to the shops and were there at a great time to meet lots of wild fowl families as we explored. So close to the airport and handy for Amsterdam but a world away from our "ordinary" lives. Michal and Daisy were super responsive and helpful while also giving us our privacy.

What an amazing experience to get to stay at Michel & Daisy’s awesome accommodation! Michel and Daisy were very friendly and welcoming, making us feel like it was our home! Michel taught us how to row and park the boat they provided. The pier where Michel picked us up was very close to the airport (one bus ride), so the location was perfect for us.
